I've heard bad things about Vista so wanted a copy of the XP on hand.
While the "blue screen of death" does not happen often, it does happen. Someone mentioned that with XP the "blue screen of death" is no more. This is actually false. Except it isn't just a matter of restarting the computer, as it just pops up again and again and again until you reformat your computer (and lose everything). Just a warning for anyone, but overall XP is a very well thought out product and has a great interface that's similar enough to old editions, but with a modern flair.
Beware buyers of this site'. It was made by a key generator. Trust only those you know and no site that gets 5 stars from most buyers. I have not made false statements'.
Not only that, they let him lie and claim it was unopened. By the likes of PBJWorld. Mircosoft now has the case. I for one will not ever shop on Amazon again.
They lost me as a customer. They want me to return it to the guy who sold it to me. Gave them what they needed to go forward. Burned by this. Never NEVER AGAIN. Amazon make false statements that they care. They do not. Shame on Amazon too, for letting this guy sell bogus software.Buy for only those you know. I purchased a copy and found it had a fake key. Pbjworld sold me a copy of Xp Professional that was not what they claimed.
By the way he refuses to deal with me. Amazon will not back you UP. It had been opened, used and packaged with a fake key. No one that perfect.Amazon customer service sucks.There is no real support.
Vista would never get by with that small of a memory footprint. Thought I would get one of these XP discs from an Amazon merchant, since Microsoft no longer makes it available. My OEM disc somehow got scratched and I need to be able to re-install on my 1/2 MB laptop. "techdiscount" merchant sent if fast, good price $116.00 and it passes the MS authentication test, shrink-wrapped. I would buy from them again.
I purchased Windows XP for my new Intel iMac based on other reviews stating that Windows Vista was giving them problems. I use Windows XP on my Mac at work and it works great. I am happy with this purchase.
